8 Telephone Numbers to Always Remember …

There was a time when we were proud of the many telephone numbers we had at the tip of our fingers. Those were the days before the mobile phone. Once mobile phones came around, there was no need to memorize phone numbers anymore and many of us lost the skill. However, here is a list of 8 telephone numbers to always remember.

1. Home phone number

It is important to always remember your home phone number. If you are in an emergency situation, but do not have your phone or enough battery power on your phone and need to get in touch with your family, you will need to remember the landline number to be able to call it.

2. Office phone number

For the same reason as above, if you need to call your office in an emergency situation and are unable to use your mobile phone, you will need to remember the office landline number to be able to call them.

3. Your spouse/partner’s phone number

If you are married or you are in a domestic relationship, it is highly likely that you will want to call this person first if you find yourself in an emergency situation. That is why it is important to remember the phone number of this person.

4. Your children’s phone numbers

Imagine you hear about a natural calamity striking in your vicinity. Whose well being are you most concerned about? One of the first names to come up is likely to be your children’s. If the mobile networks are affected, you will want to try and call your children on their home or office phones.

5. Your parent’s phone number

Similar to the point above, your parents are likely to be the next people on the list whose well being is of utmost importance to you in face of a natural calamity. You should have their home phone numbers on the fingertips so you can call them even if mobile phone services are down.

6. Your local physician

This is one number that you should always remember so that you can get in touch with your physician at any time of the night or day, in case of an emergency, whether you have your mobile phone or not.

7. Stolen/lost card hotline

If you have ever lost your wallet, you will know that the first thing you want to do is to call your stolen/lost card hotlines and discontinue your cards immediately so that nobody else can use your cards and spend your money. Remember the hotline number of all your credit and debit cards.

8. Car insurance claims hotline

If you are ever in a car accident, this is the number you should call immediately after calling emergency services.

As you can see, these are 8 telephone numbers to always remember as you never know when you will find yourself in a state of emergency. You may not always be able to use your mobile phone, but as long as you remember the numbers, you can at least make use of the landline to reach the people you need to.
